Maasai Land Trekking

Trekking in Maasai land, adjacent to the National Parks, affords unique opportunities to get out and discover the bush on foot, encountering animals and learning about the African wilderness in the way that is impossible from inside a vehicle. There are some magical walks and treks around the Rift Valley escarpment which come in the form of palm-fringed waterfalls, flamingo-pink shores of alkaline lakes, and rocky hilltop lookouts over the bush. Geological wonders are found at every turn, and of course, there’s always a great chance to view wildlife, especially birds and smaller creatures which are often missed from inside a safari vehicle. Our Maasai trekking guides are with you every step of the way, introducing you to the magnificent wilderness that is their home and their way of life.

Day 1:  Arrival in Tanzania

We meet and share your safari story, guide and transfer to Arusha for a debriefing from our team at the lodge of your choice before your adventure safari.

Day 2:  Drive and trek at tinga-tinga Maasai village.

After breakfast at the Lodge, we start our journey to Tingatinga Maasai Village with fascinating views of Mount Kilimanjaro with lucky days when the sky is clear. Before arriving at the village about 5 miles you will leave the car and meet your Maasai guide for the trek to the village. On arrival at the village, you will visit the Tingatinga primary school, meet with teachers and students for sharing their experience on how they teach the Maasai as well as the general life of the Maasai students.

We will later drive on to the wilderness camp for Lunch. After lunch in the afternoon will conduct a walking guide around the camp with views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, and Mountain Longido. Late in the afternoon, we will returns back to the Camp for a popcorn tea evening before the evening shower. After the evening shower, we will meet up at the fireplace with the Maasai for an informal talk (Lomoni) at the camp.

Day 3: Authentic Masai experience tour.

After breakfast at the camp, the day will be covered by activities at the Tingatinga Village. These activities will include walking safari in the Tinga Tinga Maasai Land, Maasai Boma visits, Lunch at the camp. Dinner and Overnight at Tingatinga Camp

Day 4: Arusha national park day safari.

On day 4 immediately after breakfast at the camp, we will have a morning drive to Arusha National Park. Half-day walking safari in the Arusha National Park.
Accompanied by the national park’s armed Ranger for your safety a deepened explanations about the park as the guide you.

Depending on the game availability you will descend through Meru Crater. The main attractions in this area include Ngarenanyuki River, the Buffalo Glade, this is a natural glade that consists of marsh, bushes, and streams. The Fauna found here include; buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes.

Break for a bush lunch then continue with the nature walk through the Momella-Tululusia Waterfalls trail. This falls will be rewarding scenery, it is about 28meters high. The steep gorge walls were created by falls itself are home to the Red-winged Starlings. The Tululusia hill provides an excellent view of the lower areas of Arusha NP and the Kilimanjaro Mountain. While trekking along this trail, you should expect to see wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, Colobus monkeys, red duiker, suni, leopard, and python among others. Late afternoon drives to back to Arusha or similar for your Overnight. Full Board.
